More than 200 attend Tanner’s ‘Celebration of Life’

A crowd of more than 200 cancer survivors and their guests braved stormy weather Thursday night to turn out for Tanner Health System’s third annual Celebration of Life at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton. The event is Tanner’s annual celebration for local cancer survivors – both those who received their treatment at Tanner, as well as those who received care elsewhere.

WGTC holds free dental clinic for kids

The West Georgia Technical College Dental Hygiene program is teaming up with the Georgia Dental Association to hold a free dental clinic for local qualifying children from underserved families on February 3. West Georgia Technical College is hosting this event for the first time.
UWG Ranked Highly by U.S. News and World Report for online programs

The University of West Georgia was ranked 26th in the nation in the area of Online Student Services and Technology and 27th in the nation in the area of Online Faculty Credentials and Training, according to U.S. News and World Report’s first-ever national ranking of online educational programs.
These rankings were also the highest of any institution in Georgia.
UWG's online degree programs offer students the convenience of attending class on their own time and work well for working students and other non-traditional students.
Joshua Clay pleads guilty

Joshua Keegan Clay pleaded guilty today in Superior Court of Carroll County to the offenses of concealing the death of another and tampering with evidence. After thorough consultations with the family of the victim, Marcelle Elliott, the District Attorney’s office recommended a sentence of 7 years in prison, followed by 13 years of probation.
