Deborah Pierce: new client does well

I want to tell you about this new client I have (I shall just call her K).  She was referred to me by a friend; and I remember the day I met her.  She came to the gym and was just not sure about joining the gym and working with a trainer.  She knew she wanted to but still had a lot of questions.  The sales person and I met with her and explained the pricing and what personal training would entail.

On weight loss supplements, fat burners

Ya gotta love advertising and the media! There is almost nothing that a good marketing strategy can’t sell.  

The health and fitness industry is certainly no exception.  We see ads for gadgets and supplements all over the place that promise weight loss and health benefits.  But, what works and what doesn’t?  I just finished a book and subsequent test on this subject, and let me tell you:  it is overwhelming!  

A look at setting goals

Goal setting. Let’s talk about that.

Right now I am working with several people with specific goals, so lets talk about it. This is not a goal: “I want to lose weight” This is a goal: “I need to lose 10 pounds by March 3 because I am going on a cruise” Goals need to be very specific, with specific timelines and measurable progress.

Pain. I deal with it every day.

Clients feel the "burn" when they train, they feel sore from yesterday's workouts, some have sore joints from arthritis or other joint issues, others have aches and pains they cannot explain. My swimmers have pains in various places.

So what is up with all this pain? Well, first of all, there is "good"
