Carroll County Re-entry program
Dear Editor,
On Wednesday I had the opportunity to sit in on a program sponsored by the Carroll County Re-entry program. It was held in the Department of Corrections Building which is just below the Driver’s License Bureau.
The event that I attended was a graduation ceremony for sixty-one persons who were incarcerated by our county. What a waste of talents, personalities, strengths and aptitudes that these persons possessed.
Tax increase shouldn't have to be endured
Letter to the Editor:
Last week I sent Scott Cowart an e-mail chastising he and the board members for voting for a 1.5 mil increase in property taxes. As of this moment I was not even graced with a reply.
Dear Superintendant Cowart
Dear Superintendant Cowart,
It has been brought to my attention that $170,000.00 from the sale of timber cut off the Tallapoosa Recreation Park near Temple, Ga. has been unfairly distributed.
Vote yes for E-SPLOST
Most of my life has been associated with Carroll County and Carrollton schools; as a student athlete coach, spectator and parent. Our facilities are a tribute to athletic and band booster clubs and donations from caring individuals but do not equal those provided by many school systems. For the first time Carroll County Schools has an opportunity to provide our students with amenities that are comparable to other school systems.
Personhood: a right to equal protection and due process
To the editor:
On the Republican primary ballot July 20, each Carroll county resident, and residents of 39 other counties across Georgia, will have an opportunity to answer a straw poll questionnaire concerning personhood.
Why is this question an important one in today’s culture?
You have to go back to the basic common denominator of when does life begin.
Inside Ministries: Thanks for your support
To the editor:
From the board of Inside Ministries, we would like to thank (the StarNews) for your support in writing the article about Inside Ministries. The Praise and Worship Concert was a huge success! Participants from all area churches participated on the program as well as donated generously to the transitional home. We would like to thank the community for spreading the work about the goodness of Inside Ministries.
