David Parks, Sr., age 60 of Whitesburg, Georgia, passed away July 27, 2017.  He was born March 8, 1957 in Carrollton, Georgia to the late Joseph Parks and Otha North Parks. He was employed by William L. Bonnell for 38 years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Felix Parks and Walter Pars, and one sister, Patsy Harris.

David leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the love of his life to whom he was married 41 years, Mary “Jean” Hall Parks; five children: Tashia (Tony) Johnson , LaRhonda (Willie) Coley, David Jr. (Shannon) Parks, Rachel (Danny) Fendley and his godson, Joshua Lowe.  Five grandsons: Brandarious Thomas, Daniel Fendley, Darrian Parks, Samuel Fendley, and Caleb Johnson; two granddaughters: Kimberly Gomez and Jasmine Parks; two brothers: Bennie Parks andPaul Parks: three sisters: Joann Blount of Newark, Delaware, Linda (Kenny) Reynolds, and Judy (Jack) Ector, all of Carrollton; one brother-in-law, Bobby Lee Hall; three sisters-in-law: Mary Helen Parks, Gladys (Gideon) Dzamvivie, Montclair (Ever) Galo Rubio; two aunts, Elizabeth (David) McCoy of Brooklyn, New York and Gertrude Pryor of Cedartown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, August 03, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Randy Hall and Pastor James Parks officiating.  Entombment will follow in West Georgia Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Parks, Walter Parks, Oscar Martinez, Brian Harris and Terrell Park. Flower attendants will be nieces and cousins.  T

he family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 02, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
