Carroll County 45th out of 157 counties in ranking of health care considerations, national study says

Carroll County is 45th out of the state’s 157 counties in a ranking of public health factors, according to the study published by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute.

In the combined categories of health outcomes and health factors, Caroll County placed 45th, above Clayton (46) and Irwin (47) counties and below Wheeler (44) and White (43). At the top of this list was Fayette (s) and Oconne (2).

Arlington

This week’s featured pet from the American Veterinary Animal Welfare Foundation is Arlington. He is a three month old male Shar Pei. Arlington is VERY affectionate. He would love to find a home where he can snuggle in bed with his family and go on lots of car rides.

Arlington's adoption fee is $200. He is neutered, micro chipped, and has all of his shots.

Tristan Sharpton

Our Star this week is Tristan Sharpton. This 12-year-old attends 7th grade at Bay Springs Middle School where he is a member of the Junior Beta Club. He works hard at school, is a great friend, and is an excellent brother to six-year-old Westin.

Tristan is very involved in sports. Since age 5, he has played baseball and soccer for the Carroll County Recreational Department. His other hobbies are playing Xbox, watching football, riding bicycles and collecting baseball cards.
