According to Complete College America, an organization funded by the Gates Foundation, of 100 Georgia ninth graders entering the ninth grade, 54 graduate. Twenty-seven go to our University System. Fourteen come back their sophomore year and six graduate. Fourteen go to the Technical College System or two-year schools.

Our Star this week is Deborah York, office manager at Atlanta West Animal Hospital in Villa Rica. Deborah has worked there for thirteen years, and has progressively become more involved in animal rescue.
She recently received a rescue licence with the state of Georgia. Deborah is a founding member of The American Veterinary Animal Welfare Foundation , which features a weekly pet, here at StarNews Online.
A true animal lover, Deborah has eighteen pets of her own (all rescues), including birds, dogs, and cats. She urges anyone looking for a pet to take the adoption route.
