Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph T. Hudgens urges Georgians to keep safety in mind when decorating their homes for the holidays.
“Don’t let fire turn your holiday into a tragedy,” Commissioner Hudgens said. “Use common sense when decorating to keep your home safe.”

Our Star this week is Deborah York, office manager at Atlanta West Animal Hospital in Villa Rica. Deborah has worked there for thirteen years, and has progressively become more involved in animal rescue.
She recently received a rescue licence with the state of Georgia. Deborah is a founding member of The American Veterinary Animal Welfare Foundation , which features a weekly pet, here at StarNews Online.
A true animal lover, Deborah has eighteen pets of her own (all rescues), including birds, dogs, and cats. She urges anyone looking for a pet to take the adoption route.
